Memory and Organization

I am trying to get rid of any sense of humor on this blog.
This blog is supposed to be strictly serious. You know?

Stepping back in connection with memory you have some
idea about time.  To begin with time is usually referred to
metaphorically as a river or sand.  So, something that
appears to stand still and is moving or something that
appears to move and doesn't much.   But it's clearly a human
sensation and I'm not sure ( although I could research it )
how much work that has been done comparing human
sensation with animal sensation. For example, has anyone
sat down recently with a dolphin and had a long
philosophical discussion about time?   I'm pretty sure
chimpanzees do not generally measure time in 24 hr
increments ( increments ??? ) but I could be wrong.

One thing that we can say with some certainty in
the human world is that data seem to move easily from
the past to the future.   There is also some
evidence for data moving from the future to
the past though this does at first seem unlikely.

Probably some of the strongest science on the subject is
connected to Ludwig Boltzmann, who worked with
Clerk Maxwell on this subject, relating to the motion of
gases and came up with a couple of clever insights.

Now these studies do connect organization with time,
but I really don't think we've reached the bottom of this
barrel, if we had - ( and surely I could be missing something )
then computer science would really have something
sciencey going on.

One other rather important thing to note is we are
discussing these things in linear terms - meaning data
travels from the past to the future, and from
the future to the past ( perhaps ), but it doesn't seem
to go around corners,  at least that's been noticed.

However, the only conclusion you will get here is
that sciencey is most likely not a " real " word.

I should not fail to mention Dr. Sarfatti's work  which
probably goes further on this subject than anyone else
I am aware of, particularly his conjectures (?) relating
dark energy and time, and also a warning -
Don't argue with Dr. Sarfatti when he's crabby.
But that advice applies to many people.

O My Gosh

The real title is:

O My Gosh, he's time traveling again and
he doesn't even understand Android.

> it's a bit about time travel >

Now,  I don't know when it really started, but certainly H.G. Wells is
important in this regard because he wrote " The Time Machine ".
But many stories have been written since then.  For me it's a truly
fascinating subject and I expect there will be more stories
and conversations in the future.

Now, I just want to talk about the subject from what I might call the Hawking
Paradigm.  First, I should say that I do not want to disrespect Dr. Hawking
since his work in connection with the theory and eventual discovery of
black holes is truly some of the most remarkable science of the 20th century.

In connection with time travel,  what I have been lead to believe is
that Dr. Hawking organized a party at Cambridge for time travelers.
Clearly this is like baiting bears with honey, because who would
skip a party at Cambridge.  Apparently no one showed, and I know
what that's like.   Anyway, this is a demonstration
that time travel is not possible.

However, if Dr. Hawking would reflect back on the event, I'm sure
he would be able to recall the details, why he decided to arrange it,
and perhaps many other particulars, so there is at least one time
traveler who was able to attend.   Now, you may say I'm mixing up
time travel and memory, because they are clearly distinct.

Come on, I would never do that!

Happy Monday

A close friend and compatriot published his first book which you will find
at the following link - which goes to Amazon.

Road-Huahine-Straight

Now, I haven't read this current version - but I know a bit about the story,
which is interesting, and gives a person a bit larger perspective of the world,
and things, I thought, at the time I was reading it.

Okay the actual name is ___>

The Road to Huahine Goes Straight Through Haight-Ashbury

but I had to search by Don Holte on Amazon.

For example, about enlarging perspective, take Haight-Ashbury.
The hyphen I mean,  it's two different streets.  See?
Also note that Huahine is part of what people call Tahiti and is in the
Pacific Ocean.  And just so you know you really don't have to
go to Haight-Ashbury to get to Huahine, and some people are born
there.

Anyway, there is only a kindle version, which I got on kindle cloud ---
and you know --- nobody understands the cloud.  Get the book and
maybe you'll be able to figure it out.

Also, when I finish reading this version I am sure I will have something
to say on another blog --- most likely ----
